의상 대사의 법성게를 통해 본 화엄 사상

In this paper, I tried to grasp what is the core ideas of Avatamaka-Sutra(화엄경) through the Dharma-nature Song (법성게) by high priest Euisang. As a result, I pointed it out to four thoughts: the one-vehicle thought, the true-nature arising thought, the idea of the mutual-identity and mutual-entering, the big-vehicle 52 steps. The four core ideas of Avatamaka-Sutra are briefly summarized as follows. First, the one-vehicle thought is that all life-giving things and all things without life are Buddha as they are now, and this world we live in is paradise as it is now. Second, the true-nature arising thought is that all material things and physical and psychological phenomena are the true-nature revealing its appearance in response to conditions. Third, the idea of the mutual-identity and mutual-entering is that all material things and physical phenomena are appearance of the true-nature so that the origin of them is the same and so there are no obstacles to each other and so they are closely connected with each other. Fourth, the big-vehicle 52 steps are the method of performance that is proposed to enable people to achieve the right enlightenment to become Buddha.
