조선후기 여성 교훈서 『訓婦錄』 기초 연구 = A Foundational Study on Hunburok of the Women's Discipline in the Late Joseon Dynasty

Hunburok, owned by the National Hangeul Museum, was transcribed from 1809-1810 or 1869-1870 by a married woman who was descended from the Papyeong Yoon family. The original book was written after 1646 by a descendant of the Papyeong Yoon family who lived in what is now Nonsan. Because married women reproduced a large amount of Confucian gender norms, women's the ethical textbook have practicality. The time difference between writing and transcription also shows the validity of sex norms. These include the attitude of life that one must have as a wife, how to serve one's parents-in-law, the norms of funeral and memorial services, the norms of how to treat one's in-laws, the education of one's children, how to marry one's children, and the norms of how to entertain guests. One of the characteristics of the book is that first, the author wrote the title of an excerpted book. Second, the author adds an explanation to help readers understand. This was the process of making unfamiliar Confucian sex norms his or her own. Third, the method of educating children, restrained attitude, and ancestral rites were considered important. Women had to have an outsider's identity. And women had to teach their in-laws well, and hold ancestral rites carefully with their husbands. And women had to be wary of coming out of their in-laws' any time unless they were jealous or obedient.
