중년층의 권위적 성격이 노인차별에 미치는 영향에서 합리화, 인지왜곡, 애매모호과민성의 매개효과 = Effect of Authoritarian Personality of the Middle-aged on Ageism Mediated by Rationalization, Cognitive Distortion and Ambiguity Intolerance

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study empirically confirmed authoritarian personality, rationalization, cognitive distortion and ambiguity intolerance were predictors affecting the middle-aged Korean's ageism against the elderly and verified mediating role of rationalization, cognitive distortion and ambiguity intolerance between authoritarian personality and ageism. To investigate causalities of factors, we purposively collected a sample of 400 cases from 20 dongs randomly selected in Jeonju and 342cases, survived the data cleaning such as missing values, outliers, normality and multicollinearity,were analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, reliability, confirmatory factor analysis and structural model analysis. Followed were the selected contributions of the present study. First, authoritarian personality was a predictor of rationalization, cognitive distortion and ambiguity intolerance. Second,rationalization was a predictor of ambiguity intolerance and ageism. Third, cognitive distortion was a predictor of ambiguity intolerance which was a predictor of ageism. Thus, cognitive distortion was an indirect predictor of ageism mediated by ambiguity intolerance. Fourth, authoritarian personality was a predictor of ageism mediated by rationalization, cognitive distortion and ambiguity intolerance. The contributions suggested assessment of ageist's authoritarian personality,rationalization, cognitive distortion and ambiguity intolerance before intervening would provide significantly better leverage of engagement in ageism of the middle aged and also would lead to evidence based practice.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국중년의 권위적 성격이 노인차별에 미치는 영향에서 합리화, 인지왜곡, 애매모호과민성의 매개효과를 검증했다. 검증을 위해 전주시에서 20개 동을 무작위로 선정했고, 선정된 행정구역별로 35세에서 50세 사이의 중년남녀 20명씩 전체 400명을 표본 추출하였다. 회수된 응답 중에서 결측치, 이상치, 정규분포 등의조건을 만족한 342사례가 분석대상이 되었다. 분석은 빈도분석, 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 다중공선성 검증 그리고구조방정식을 이용한 확인요인분석과 구조모형분석을 실시했다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중년의 권위적성격은 합리화와 인지왜곡 방어기제 그리고 애매모호과민성에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 중년의 합리화 방어기제는 애매모호과민성에 부적인 영향을 미치며, 노인차별에는 정적인 영향을 미치는것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 중년의 인지왜곡 방어기제는 애매모호과민성에 부적인 영향을 미치며, 애매모호과민성은 노인차별에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 인지왜곡 방어기제는 애매모호과민성을 매개하여 노인차별에 간접적이면서 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 권위적 성격은 합리화, 인지왜곡, 애매모호과민성을 매개로 노인차별에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다. 연구결과는 노인차별 가해자의 권위적 성격, 합리화, 인지왜곡, 애매모호과민성 등의 측정과 결과를 이용한 근거중심실천(evidence based practice)이 효과적인 노인차별 중재전략임을 시사하고 있다.
