다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

The purpose of this study is to secure stable and long term employment of workers with disability and help improve their working conditions through a survey of their job satisfaction as the job satisfaction of the worker with disability workers are important by itself, also has an impact on their job attitude or organizational behavior and are closely associated with their personal goals in their lives.

Given such an objective, drawing up questionnaire for job satisfaction, we surveyed 310 workers with disability in Daegu area via physical interviews and mails, 220 out of whom responded to the questionnaire. The answer sheets of 43 respondents were excluded for quality reason, 177 were used for statistical analysis. The results are as follows,

Frist, the overall job satisfaction level was 2.90, which can be seen as normal. Looking at the level in detail by cause, the satisfaction with co-workers was measured at 3.35, the highest of all, and then satisfaction with wage was 2.41, the lowest. This shows that workers with disability are not satisfied with their jobs so much and, in particular, their wage they got paid fell short of their expectations. In order to solve these problems, practical policy measures need to be taken to prevent discrimination between workers with disability and workers with non-disability, all of whom work under same working conditions. It also necessary to explore high paying jobs for workers with disability to raise overall income.

Second, for the factors affecting the overall job satisfaction level by cause, it was found that supervisors, co-workers, cause of disability, education, duration of employment were the most significant factors. Wage factor was found to be the most significant in promotion, and vice versa. It was also revealed that the higher the level of satisfaction with supervision and organization, the higher the level of satisfaction with co-workers. Organization factor was found to be higher when they were satisfied more with their supervision. For the factor of transfer and change of jobs were founded that those who were employed for a shorter term were less likely to consider job transfer. And regular workers, female workers and those with higher job satisfaction are the ones who did not consider job transfer.

Third, about the difference in job satisfaction lying behind demographic characteristics and employment, significant differences were discovered depending on the factors of sex, number of employers, education, type of disability, number of family members, source of income, economic condition, level of education in terms of job classification, duratio of shift and shit cycle. Female workers were found more satisfied in co-worker factor, transfer factor and changing job factor than male workers. And those who work for larger companies did not consider job transfer. Moreover, the higher the education level is, the more likely to have higher satisfaction in job factor. Better economic condition leads to higher satisfaction in most factors. The respondents with higher education level were found to have higher satisfaction in the jobs which required higher education level. Finally, those work less and short-term shits were found happier.

The results of the survey suggest that in order to secure stable and long term employment of workers with disability and improve job satisfaction and working conditions the quality of the work of workers with disability needs to be enhanced. To this end, a customized education system is required to meet varying needs of the workers with disability reflecting diversifying jobs and professions. In other words, a variety of training programs need to be devised to ensure that the workers with disability can acquire various qualifications and competitiveness in getting jobs, considering changing economic flow and industrial structure.

Additionally, it is required that co-workers and supervisors are encouraged through various channels to have better understanding and awareness towards workers with disability to enhance the satisfaction level of workers with disability. It is also necessary to provide a variety of initiatives and support system for co-workers to have better understanding of workers with disability and recognize them as partners.
