The purpose of this study was to research the degree of child abuse experience, self-esteem and aggression as general specialty and to know the relation among them. Three hundred and twenty five(325) boy students, from first grade to third grade, belong to three(3) middle schools of 115 middle schools located in Daegu answered question survey. This study was proceeded by questionnaires method including standard questions to measure child abuse, self-esteem and aggression and analyzed by applying SPSS 10.0 program. To know the general specialty, used technical statistical method such as frequency analysis. To verify the meaningful difference of average score between child abuse, self-esteem and aggression, used ANOVA T-test. To research the effects on self-esteem and aggression by Child Abuse Experiences, path analysis was conducted by multiple regression analysis
The study came to conclusion as follows. Firstly, the effect of difference between self-esteem and aggression by child abuse experience related general specialty in middle school students was as follows. In case the parents are separated or divorced, the degree of physical abuse, emotional abuse and neglect was high as the family structure on parents. In case the father's education career is lower than middle school, emotional abuse as high. The emotional abuse and neglect has a meaningful difference statistically as mother's education career.
Secondly, verified the correlation between self-esteem and child abuse to know the relation between child abuse experience and self-esteem. The result was that there was a meaningful relation in self-esteem on physical abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. Most of all, physical abuse was the biggest negative correlation.
Thirdly, verified the correlation between child abuse and aggression to research the relation between child abuse experience of middle school students and aggression. The result was that physical abuse made a positive correlation between leading aggression and reactive aggression.
Fourthly, verified the stepwise regression analysis between self-esteem, aggression and child abuse to research the role as medium between child abuse experience, self-esteem, and aggression of middle school students. The result was that physical abuse had the biggest effect on self-esteem, next was neglect, the last was emotional abuse.
Self-esteem was influence by reactive aggression, next relative aggression and the last leading aggression. This study conducted the path analysis to know how child abuse affect to self-esteem and aggression and how much casual relationship is included. The result was that the factor which affects to leading aggression was the factor of physical abuse and self-esteem, and to reactive aggression was the factor of physical abuse and self-esteem. The factor which affects to relative aggression was the factor of self-esteem. The middle school students experienced physical abuse were directly affected by leading aggression and reactive aggression. Also, they were indirectly affected by self-esteem as factor of medium. The middle school students experienced emotional abuse were indirectly affected by leading aggression, reactive aggression and relative aggression by self-esteem as factor of medium. The middle school students experienced neglect were indirectly affected by aggression by self-esteem as factor of medium.
