      This treatise aims to be a survey on the achievement motive and role expectation of primary school teachers. And the scope of this survey can best be described as presenting proper directions to the organization of educational administration and training course of teachers by grasping the interrelation between the level of achivement motive, role perception and role expectation.
      The contents of this thesis arc follows :
      (a) theorectical investigation on achicvement motive
      (b) theorectical investigation on role expectation
      (d) spot investigation on achievement motive and role expectation
      (d) summary and proposition for the improvement of education in this country

      The results of this study point out the following facts ;
      According to the present theory of national progress, it is said that the researches of psychologist and educator are just as grid as the one of the politician and economist. It depends on the fact that both achievement motives and psychological characteristics have highly been emphasized as the elements by which national purposes might be attained, In the light of this reality, McClelland's theory on acievement motive is admitted as an important element for the national developments. At the sable times, we can not deny that educational progress of this nation is so necessarily determined by the achievement motive of teachers who are directly responsible for their own professional management of school, that the needs to upbring and cultivate achievement motive of teacher's have been increased.
      The achievement motives of teachers that are investigated through this survey are extremely low, so that there are necessity to improve the level of Achievement motive for the purpose of educational enlargement.
      Theory of group dynamic is recently taking a serious view of the role of teachers in school society. The role of teachers means the expectation to be accmplished through status which is occupied in the social organization of education, Such role of teachers gives direct influences to the educational activities of teachers. Therefore teachers who ars able to know the clear and right role will possible achieve successful tasks faced upon them.
      Interrelation between role expectation ailed role perception that are shown in this survey presents us comparatively high rates, It is, however, highly required that the differences differences should be decreased,
      because the differnces between the expectation and perception are exposed in the many investigational areas.
      Eventually the organizations of educational adrministration and training course of teacher must have duties to arrange the positive plan for betterment of the achievement motive level of teachers in this country. And also concrets efforts should be made for the purpose of decreasing the differences between the role expectaion and perception.
