    This paper shows the differences between formal and informal English and gives the concrete examples of their usages. The problems with the present English education which ignores the variety of English, especially distinction between formal and informal English are also brought up. With these problems, this paper claims tht the variety of English should be learned from the earlier stage, and that the usages of formal or informal English appropriate th the various situations should also be learned.
