농어촌지역 체류형 관광상품 개발방안 -웰니스/의료관광을 중심으로- = The Development of Stay Tourism Products in Farming and Fishing Villages -Focused on Wellness/Medical Tourism-

Those who value wellbeing want relaxation. They value privacy, distaste schedules, and prefer a calm atmosphere with seek for time outside in nature. According to several studies, wellbeing tourists seek relaxation, escape from their jobs, peace and quiet, sports, and healthy gastronomy. Furthermore, health and wellness tourism is regarded as an alternative for the off-season and a product diversification for new and mature destinations. Significantly this tourism product requires interaction between other fields such as medicine, thalassotherapy, hydrotherapy, and wellness lifestyle. The purpose of this study is to purpose a development plan for ‘stay tourism products’ related to farming and fishing villages. Wellness tourism face problems in providing medical services with the limiting of farming and fishing villages tour program in Korea. Thus this study reveals the current state of tourism, welfare for the older generation in farming and fishing villages, and understanding required to revitalize wellness tourism. As a result, this study brings up revitalizing plans for ‘stay tourism products’in farming and fishing villages which is the below followings. ①Understanding farming and fishing villages in specific regions ② Constructing short, medium and long term strategy ③ Picking one of the most success models of farming and fishing villages wellness tourism ④ Developing cooperate programs between the region, institution and government ⑤ Improving medical facilities in farming and fishing villages ⑥ Active support from the central and local government. A basic frame for revitalizing is to form a cluster with farming and fishing villages, institution, medical center, and the government. Also, basic understanding on existing wellness programs of farming and fishing villages is needed. This cluster also needs development through master plans and supports from government since it requires expenditure.
