The present study investigates the effects of exhaust gas temperature on the performances of SCR vaporizer,
urea conversion and uniformity index, by using CFD models and simulation method. The present CFD method
is constructed by combining Reynolds stress averaged Navier Stokes equation solver with turbulence, discrete
phase and urea conversion reaction models, and is also applied to a SCR vaporizer of Korean cogeneration
plant. The CFD analysis results show the significant reduction of urea conversion when exhaust gas temperature
is lower than 225 o
C and the high level of uniformity index with 82-87% over entire range of exhaust gas
temperature
