      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since chronic metabolic disease increases with obesity in postmenopausal women, this study investigated whether swimming exercise modulates the inflammatory response of skeletal muscle in obesity-induced ovariectomized female mice.
The female mice were divided into an ovariectomized control group (O/C) and ovariectomized group with exercise (O/Ex). Both groups were fed a high-fat diet for 8 weeks (60min/day), and O/Ex swam for 8 weeks. Body weight gain, adipose tissue mass, and the mRNA expression of gene-related inflammation in skeletal muscle were measured.
Compared with O/C, O/Ex showed decreased body weight and adipose tissue mass, as well as increased mRNA expression of inflammation cytokine such as MCP-1, IL-6, and TNFα but decreased mRNA expression of IκBα in skeletal muscle.
Therefore, this study provides molecular biological information on the health improvement of obese women during menopause, suggesting that swimming exercise regulates the expression of genes related to the inflammatory response in skeletal muscle in an animal model of postmenopausal obese women.
