The purpose of this study is to hydrologic analysis of urban drainage basin by the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) presented by U.S.A Environmental Protection Agency. This model is tested on Sangmu Drainage Area located in Seo-Gu, Kwangju. To apply this model the basin is devided into contributing areas or subbasins. With this information the time area for contributing is derived. The rainfall pattern analysis on time distribution characteristics of rainfall rates is important in determination of design flow for hydrologic structures, particularly in urban area drainage network system design. The design rainfall assesed from the intensity-duration-frequency relationship and the temporal distributions of that rainfall determined on the basis of Huff's method from the historical rainfall data of the basin. The SWMM model tested in this study can be applied to compute the runoff in the urban stream channel as well as from the small urban drainage area.
