Seventeen patients of receving abdominal, perineal, or lower extremity operation, were studied in the analgesic effect of epidural ketamine 30mg about postoperative pain.
The result are summerized as follow.
1. The oneset of analgesia was within 5 minutes.
2. The mean duration of analgesia was 4.70±2.86 hours.
3. Mean arterial pressure, heart rate, and respiration rate were not changed significantly.
4. Side effects such as back pain, dizziness, and headache were observed.
5. The analgesic effect of epidural ketamine was reversed partially by naloxone administra tion(0.4mg).
