This study experimented with 10 clinical trial volunteers and Bio skin plate to investigate whether silicone oil which was the biggest in ingredients of cosmetics was able to be substituted with vegetable oil through comparing make-up and cleansing effect by level of cover of foundation which was made only from vegetable oil and one to which silicone oil was added.
First, in case of measurement of level of cover, face without make-up was measured by CS-50 which was a measuring instrument of skin, and then it was measured again after being put on foundation. For accurate measurement, same amount of foundation was put on the whole skin and each of vegetable, silicone foundation was measured. CS-50, measuring instrument of skin, was an instrument which grasp the level of pigmentation, the number of pore, the wrinkles at the corners of eyes and mouth, and in this study, it enabled to verify the effect of make-up through the level of cover by comparison of the level of pigmentation and the number of pore after using foundation.
In case of make-up effect by the number of pore, a large number of pore decreased when both vegetable and silicone foundation were put on than when foundation was not put on, but in case that two foundations were compared, when vegetable one was put on, the number of pore decreased.
The make-up effect using level of pigmentation was verified by same method above. It was divided into small pigmentation and big pigmentation as per its size and analyzed. In other words, two experimental data showed that vegetable foundation was more effective.
Next, before using foundation, after using one, after first, second cleansing, the residue of foundation was confirmed and the level of cleansing was compared and analyzed through measuring change of skin color by using spectrophotometer.
In the experiment targeting clinical trial volunteers, since human skin was not equal, if a part of measurement changed, it would make much of a difference in data value, so the same part was certainly measured. As the result, the level of cleansing of vegetable foundation was better in all of L, a, b values. While statistical significance was not verified in first cleansing, the one was verified in second cleansing which was a final cleansing. And vegetable foundation showed same data value with face without make-up and eventually showed flawless cleansing, and silicone foundation showed different data value with face without make-up, so it was expected that residue of foundation would be left behind. The experiment using Bio skin plate was conducted with the amount of a tenth of a human skin. That’s because the spreading extent was small and absorption force was worse than human skin. As the result of the study, vegetable foundation showed good level of cleansing in all of L, a, b values.
In conclusion, the level of cleansing of vegetable foundation in common with the level of cover of the one was good as well.
