자료 분석은 SPSS 30.0 프로그램을 이용하여 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis로 분석하였다.

This descriptive survey study examines how dementia attitudes, behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) burden, and person–environment fit influence slow nursing among nurses in long-term care hospitals while generating foundational data for enhancing slow nursing practices.
Survey data were collected from 188 nurses with at least 6 months of clinical experience at 10 long-term care hospitals in Busan, Ulsan, Yangsan, and Miryang, Korea, between October 10 and November 20, 2025. Data analysis employed SPSS 30.0 for descriptive statistics (percentage, mean, standard deviation), independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and enter-method multiple regression.
1. The mean scores were 5.52±0.70 for dementia attitudes (7-point scale), 1.33±0.52 for BPSD burden (3-point scale), 3.54±0.55 for person–environment fit (5-point scale), and 3.00±0.39 for slow nursing (4-point scale).
2. Slow nursing correlated positively with dementia attitudes (r=.56, p<.001) and person–environment fit (r=.38, p<.001), and differed significantly by gender (t=−2.34, p=.020) and job position (t=−2.38, p=.019).
3. Dementia attitudes exerted the strongest influence on slow nursing (β=.49, p<.001), and the regression model was statistically significant (F=22.76, p<.001), with dementia attitudes accounting for approximately 31.8% of slow nursing variation.
Dementia attitudes emerged as the primary factor influencing slow nursing performance among nurses in long-term care hospitals. Educational interventions aimed at positively developing and reinforcing nurses’ attitudes toward dementia are needed to enhance slow nursing performance. This requires developing and implementing educational programs that include an understanding of people with dementia, interpretative perspectives on BPSD, communication skills, and non-pharmacological interventions. Concurrently, organizational efforts to review and improve nursing work environments and support systems should be implemented to sustain nurses’ engagement in patient-centered care.
