The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12wks of lumbar stretching on the degree of scoliosis and flexibility in elementary school students. [Method] The research grouped the classes in two as experiment group (male 12, female 12) and control group (male 12, female 12). Students in the experiment group participated in lumbar stretching three times a week for 12 weeks. The study utilized for analyzing collected data were t-test, two-way ANOVA. [Result] Firstly, lumbar stretching influenced a better degree of scoliosis in elementary school students. The experiment group showed a significant decrease on their the degree of scoliosis(p<.01). Secondly, participation in lumbar stretching didn`t affect flexibility of scoliosis with elementary school students. Students in the experiment group didn`t show a significant difference of their flexibility. [Conclusion] It has been judged that lumbar stretching has positive effect on the degree of scoliosis in elementary school students.
