프로그램 환경과 사회적 지지가 정신장애인의 희망에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Program Environment and Social Support on the Hope of People with Mental Illness

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내 정신장애인의 희망 수준을 살펴보고, 희망에 영향을 주는 요인 및 정신장애인이 이용하는 사회복귀시설의 프로그램 환경과 사회적 지지가 희망에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 파악함으로써 정신보건서비스를 위한 기초자료를 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2010년 7월부터 1개월간 서울 및 경인지역에 소재한 사회복귀시설을 이용하는 정신장애인을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정신장애인의 희망 수준은 중간보다 약간 높은 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 위계적 회귀분석 결과 정신장애인이 종교가 있는 경우 희망의 수준이 높았으며, 증상이 심할수록 희망 수준은 낮아지는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 정신장애인이 현재 이용하고 있는 사회복귀시설 내 분위기 및 동료·전문가와의 상호작용을 긍정적으로 인식할수록 희망 수준이 높았으며, 가족지지와 친구지지 모두 높을수록 희망이 유의하게 높았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 정신장애인의 희망을 고취하기 위한 실천적 함의를 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Purpose of this study is to provide the basic research material for the mental health service by grasp the relative impact of mental health rehabilitation agency`s program environment and the social support to the people with mental illness and their level of hope. For this study, the self-answering survey was conducted by the 459 people with mental illness who are using the social rehabilitation facility based in Seoul and Gyung-in area from July to August of 2010. The result of the research is as follows. First, the level of hope has proven to be slightly higher than average. Second, as the result of hierarchical regression analysis, it has been confirmed that religious person with mental illness has higher level of hope. It has also been established that the level of hope decreases along with the severity of the mental illness. Furthermore, the level of hope is higher when the person with the mental illness is perceiving the atmosphere and the relationship with other patients and professionals in a positive way. The support from the family and friends is also a meaningful variable that may predict hope. Based on these results, the practical implications for the hope of people with mental illness had been discussed.
