국내 어린이 프로그램의 편성현황 및 발달단계별 내용분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 케이블·위성방송의 13개 어린이 방송채널, 5개 지상파 방송채널의 어린이 프로그램 전체적인 편성현황을 분석하였다. 아울러, 본 연구는 영유아 대상 프로그램에 대한 내용분석을 실시하였다. 편성분석은 2007년 7월 9일∼15일(1주일)까지 18개 방송채널들의 어린이 프로그램 전수를 대상으로 진행하였으며, 내용분석은 폭력적 내용에 대한 분석이 아닌 어린이의 발달단계상 어떠한 부분들에 맞혀진 내용으로 구성되어져 있는가를 알아보았다. 분석대상은 3∼7세의 영유아를 대상으로 프로그램으로 한정하였다. 편성현황 분석결과, 분석된 18개 채널의 어린이 프로그램 편성량은 1주일에 1,743시간, 1일 평균 249시간으로 나타났다. 이들 케이블·위성방송 채널들의 어린이 프로그램 편성비율은 약 85%, 지상파채널의 어린이 프로그램 편성비율은 4.15%(EBS 포함시, 11.37%)로 나타났다. 어린이 프로그램의 장르분석 결과는 애니메이션의 지나친 편중을 보여주었다.
18개 채널의 애니메이션 편성비중은 85.36%(지상파채널: 52.6%, 케이블·위성채널: 87.44%)로 분석되었다. 어린이 프로그램의 국내제작, 해외수입 비중은 3∶7 정도로 나타나고 있다.
어린이 프로그램의 수입국은 미국(전체 어린이 프로그램의 31.6%), 일본(전체 어린이 프로그램의 26.3%)으로 편중되어 있는 것으로 나타났다.
영유아 대상 프로그램의 내용분석 결과, <사회적 스킬>을 다루는 내용이 가장 많고, <청각스킬>, <자기감각>, <신체적 활동> 등을 다루는 내용이 그 다음으로 많았다. <청각스킬>, <신체적 활동>, <학교 입학준비 관련> 요인에서 애니메이션과 놀이·체험 프로그램 간에는 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 놀이·체험 프로그램이 이들 요인들 모두에서 많이 다루어진 것으로 분석되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the children’s channels and their programings of the Korean cable television and the terrestrial networks. The total programming of 18 children’s channels were analyzed. For the analysis, the whole programs of the one week between June 9, 2007and June
15, 2007 were obtained from the web sites of the channels. The contents of the 28 domestic and foreign children’s programs were also analyzed.
The target audiences of the selected children’s programs were three to seven years old.
The results showed that the total amounts of children’s programming for the one week were 1,743 hours, representing 249 hours per day on the average. The ratio of the children’s programming to the whole programming on the cable television channels was 85%, while the ratio on the network televisions was only 11.37%. When the EBS network television was excluded, the ratio sharply dropped to 4.15%. The foreign children’s programs were mainly imported from America, explaining 31.6% of the total children’s programs. Japan was the next, explaining 26.3%. The results of the content analysis indicated that the contents of dealing with children’s social skills were most salient in the programs for targeting the ages from 3 to 7. The followings were the contents that dealt with auditory skills, sense of selfhood, and physical activities.
