성인입양인의 경험에 대한 질적 사례연구 = Life Experiences of Adult Adoptees -A Qualitative Case Study-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 성인입양인들의 생애경험을 이해하고자 하는 것이며, 특히 성인입양인들이 생애과정에서 경험할 수 있는 다양한 이슈들을 파악하는데 초점을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 연구자들은 만 18세 이상의 성인입양인 12명을 만나 심층면접 등을 통해 자료를 수집하였고 질적 사례연구 방법으로 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 개별 성인입양인들에 대한 분석을 수행한 뒤, 사례간 분석을 통해 전체 사례에 걸쳐 공통적으로 나타나는 주제들을 찾아 기술하고 해석하였다. 분석결과로 나타난 주제들을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. "난 사랑 받고 싶어요", "믿고 싶지 않은 진실", "풀어지지 않는 응어리", "보일 듯 보이지 않는, 잡힐 듯 잡히지 않는", "내 진짜 부모님", "인생극장: 두 개의 무대", "내겐 가볍지만 그들에겐 무거운, 내겐 평범하지만 그들에겐 특별한", "너무 차갑거나 매우 따뜻하거나", "운명처럼", "그래도 결론은 해피엔딩" 등이다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로, 앞으로 성인입양인들과 그 가족들을 지원하기 위해 고려해야 할 실천적, 정책적 지침들을 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to understand the life experiences of adult adoptees with a special focus on adoption related issues in their life. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with adult adoptees and analyzed using qualitative case study approach. Data collected from twelve adult adoptees were employed for within-case and cross-case analysis. In the within-case analysis, the life experience of each adoptee was carefully examined and analyzed. The common themes appeared in all cases were described and integrated in the cross-case analysis. The themes generated from the within-case analysis include "I want to be loved", "the truth that I do not want to believe", "the bitterness that has never been resolved", "barely visible and hardly catchable", "my real parents", "theater of life: two stages", "light to me, but heavy for them, normal to me, but special for them" "too cold or too warm", "like destiny" and "it`s a happy ending anyway". Based on the results of the study, policy and practice implications for adult adoptees and their families were suggested.
