'5월 문학' 연구에 대한 비판적 고찰 = A Critical Study on the Research of 'May Literature'

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to critically investigate the May Literature' related critical and academical discourses performed and published by this time. To achieve the purpose of study, the critical discussions were divided into and examined 'Poetics' and 'Novels' according to the custom of Genre division.
Relatively small quantity of the discourses related to May Revolution were produced, even though enormous amount of texts related to May Revolution so that it could be established as the history of May Literature. The main reason of above situation is analyzed in this study as the political cataclysm. More specifically, the situation is drawn because both of the critics and the writers misunderstand or not thoroughly conceive the relationship between 'Literature and Politics'.
Therefore, the researcher concluded that the poverty of critical discourses is a vicious circle of it, and is an inevitable consequence which are compounded by the neglection of those critics' duties and the mannerism of writers.
In conclusion, this study asserts that the literature specialists and the literature research group in universities should be more concerned into the '80s literature at large including May Literature. The conclusion is made based on the reason that the critics and the writers have not put a lot of efforts on endowing with a logical tendency of literatures when they observe and investigate the literary situation on their time, and they are responsible for the poverty of critical discourse.
