Lee's empirical studies is based upon concepts of 'state-ownership of land' and $lt;Juho(landlord)-Hyupho (peasant)$gt;. I argue that this framework lacks theoretidal scrutiny, leading to confusion in understanding his key assertions.
When we isolate only $lt;Juho-Hyupho$gt; from his arguments. there seems to be not much difference between him and his opponents. But his central emphasis on 'state-ownership of land' does not match $lt;Juho-Hyupho$gt;. He does not pay enough attention to the importance of community which can play a vital role in linking 'state-ownership of land' and $lt;Juho-Hyupho$gt;
As a conclusion, he starts from criticizing the feudalistic approach (based on private ownership of land). underestimation of the role of the state. But in his assertion overemphasized the role of the state, he has too much attention to 'state-ownership of land', and ignorance of many facets of $lt;Juho-Hyupho$gt;.
