즉흥 연주 능력 신장을 위한 음악 이야기 제재 개발 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 사회는 개인의 표현 능력이 점차 증대됨으로써 개성과 창의성이 그 어느 때보다도 중요시되고 있다. 이러한 현실 속에서 음악교육을 통해 개성을 가꾸고 창의성을 계발하며 음악적 개념을 바탕으로 한 다양하고 의미 있는 창작 활동을 통해서 자신을 표현할 수 있는 능력을 기르는 것은 현대를 살아가는 어린이들에게 매우 유익하고 가치 있는 일이라고 할 수 있다.
그러나 학교에서는 주로 노래 부르기나 악기 연주하기 등에 음악 수업이 편중되어 있고 창작에 대한 관심과 자료의 부족으로 인해 어린이들의 창의적인 표현 욕구가 제대로 충족되지 못하고 있는 실정이다.
이에 본 연구자는 초등학교 저학년에서 깨우쳐야할 기본적인 음악 개념들을 흥미롭게 가르칠 수 있고, 창의적인 즉흥 연주 활동에 대한 능력을 신장시킬 수 있으며 자신감과 적극적인 태도를 가질 수 있게 하기 위하여 음악 이야기 제재를 구안하였다.
이 음악 이야기 제재는 전래 동화를 이용한 것 5편, 읽기 교과서를 이용한 것 5편, 그리고 실생활과 관련된 것 3편 등 모두 13편을 구안하였는데 각각 이야기 내용, 지도 개념, 표현 악기, 표현 방법, 그림 악보 등으로 구성되어 있다. 또한 음악 이야기 제재를 활용한 수업 모형과 수업 지도안을 구안하였으며 발전 학습에 활용될 음악 만들기 수업 모형과 수업 지도안도 함께 구안하였다.
주변에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 재료와 악기를 이용하여 재미있게 표현을 해보는 과정을 통하여 어린이들이 스스로 리듬, 가락, 셈여림, 빠르기, 음색 등의 기본적인 음악 개념들을 깨우칠 수 있도록 하였으며, 초등학교 3,4학년에서 더욱 구체적으로 진행될 창의적인 즉흥 연주 능력을 크게 향상시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 이 제재를 할용하면 기보를 중요시하는 작곡 활동에 큰 부담을 느끼는 어린이들도 자신의 생각을 음악적으로 표현하는데 대해 즐거움과 만족을 가질 수 있으며 어릴 때부터 창작하는 기쁨을 체험함으로써 창의적인 생활 태도를 갖는데 큰 도움이 될 수 있다.
이 연구를 위해 김해 시내 신도시 지역 초등학교의 2학년 1개 학급을 대상으로 음악과 영역별 흥미도와 음악적 개념별 이해 능력, 그리고 음악 표현 능력에 대한 기초 조사를 하였고, 동 학급을 대상으로 음악 이야기 제재를 구안하여 적용해 가면서 필요한 부분을 수정 보완하였다. 연구의 결과 주로 가창 영역에 치우쳐 있던 어린이들의 음악과 영역별 흥미도가 전 영역에서 고루 높게 나타났으며 특히 즉흥 연주하기를 좋아하는 어린이는 8명(16%)에서 38명(76%)으로 크게 증가하였다.
또한 연구 전에는 상대적으로 부족하였던 리듬 듣고 가리기(14%)와 셈여림의 변화 알기(24%) 등의 음악적 개념이 각각 68%, 72%로 크게 향상되었으며 이러한 음악적 개념 이해 능력의 향상은 곧 어린이의 음악 표현 능력에도 영향을 미쳐 전반적으로 그 능력이 크게 향상되었음을 보여주었다.
자료의 부족으로 인해 즉흥 연주 활동이 효과적으로 이루어질 수 없었던 학교 현장에서 이 음악 이야기 제재를 활용함으로써 어린이들의 창의적인 음악 활동에 조금이나마 도움이 되기를 바라며 앞으로 즉흥 연주활동에 대한 관심이 더 높아지고 좋은 교수 학습 자료들이 많이 개발되기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Personality and creativity is considered to be more important day by day in the times in which we live. It is very useful and valuable that children develop their personality and originality and they cultivate their ability to express themselves through the creative work based on the music conception.
But, children's desire to express creatively is not satisfied, because not only most of the studies are assigned to singing and playing the musical instrument but also teachers' interest and the teaching materials are short.
The purpose of this study is to design the music story subjects in order that the children might learn the basic conception on the music cheerfully and might take confidence and positive activity on the self-expression work.
I have developed the thirteen subjects which are five subjects from hereditary story, five subjects from Korean reading textbook and three subjects from real life. The subjects are composed with contents, teaching conception, materials for expression, methods for expression, pictorial music. And I developed a teaching model and a guidance plan which uses these music story telling subjects. Children can learn rhythm, melody, dynamics, tempo and nature of sound naturally through a course to express joyfully with using music instrucments and materials which is common around.
These subjects can be used as basic study of music making which is going to study concretely at the third and forth grade of the elementary school. By studying with this programs the children will have a joy of creation and a creative life style.
For this study, I researched the basic items on the interest in domains of music, the ability to understand music concepts and the ability to express musically of the one calss of second grade of the elementary school in new Gimhae city and I modified and supplemented the study as applied it to the class.
According to the result of this study, the children's interests which inclined to the singing domain were up evenly in all domains, and specially a degree of the interest in improvisation domain increased from 16 percent to 76 percent.
The abilities to discriminate rhythms by listening them and to comprehend the changes of dynamics which are insufficiency increased to 68 percent and to 72 persent each and the improvement of these understanding of musical concepts influenced so to children's ability to express musically that it was increased very highly.
Improvisation has been made insufficiently in school because of materials, but now, I hope this music story telling subjects will be used in school very usefully and it will be a helpful to children's creative music activities. And I hope so that the interest of the improvisation will be arouse and the good materials to study it will be developed more and more.
