장애인의 성 향유에 영향을 미치는 요인연구 : 20대 미혼 장애인을 중심으로 = A Study on Factors Affecting Sexuality of the Persons with Disabilities in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 장애인의 성 문제에 관한 최초의 전국 조사로서 성을 보다 다차원적이고 포괄적인 개념으로 보아 장애인의 성이 타인과의 상호작용이자 자신의 존재의미와 자아존중감과도 연결되는 근원적인 힘으로 작용한다고 보고 결혼한 장애인들이 아닌 미혼의 청장년 장애인들을 연구대상으로 하여 이들이 포괄적인 의미에서의 성을 얼마만큼 향유하고 있는지 그리고 성향유에 영향을 주는 요인들은 무엇인지를 밝힘으로서 통합적이고 전인적인 기능을 하는 성을 향유하도록 돕고자 하였다. 그리고 이 연구를 통해 향후 장애인의 성 향유를 촉진할 수 있는 정책의 방향설정에 토대가 될 수 있는 함의를 도출하고자 하였다. 조사 결과 우리나라 장애인은 비교적 긍정적인 성에 대한 태도를 보이고 있음에도 불구하고 성과 관련된 사생활이 보장되지 않고 성문제를 상담할 수 있는 기회가 제한되어 있으며 이성과의 접촉이 어려움으로 인해 성을 향유하지 못하고 있었다. 성의 향유에는 이성과의 접촉정도, 사생활 보장, 성에 대한 대화정도가 영향을 미치며 그 외에 장애유형이나 교육수준, 성별도 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 장애인의 성문제를 해결하기 위해 성 상담프로그램이나 이동권 보장, 체계적인 성교육강화 등의 정책적 접근이 이루어져야 하며 장애인의 성에 대한 부정적 선입견을 해소하기 위한 다양한 방법이 모색되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Purpose of Study is to examine degree of sexuality enjoyment of the disabled in holistic perspective and to find factors affecting sexuality of the disabled in Korea. Reasearch was conducted on the people with visual disabilities and physical disabilities. Telephone survey was used for the persons with visual disabilities whereas mailing survey was used for persons with physical disabilities. The final sample was consisted of 353 respondents.
The major findings of this study were as follows:
First, although persons with disabilities have positive attitudes about their sexuality, they don't have the privacy nor the opportunity to talk openly about their sexuality. Second, the factors affecting sexuality of the disabled were the opportunity to meet the opposit sex, the degree of privacy and the extent of open discussion. The current findings suggest that intervention and policy aimed at improving sexuality enjoyment of the people with disabilities such as enhanced availability, sexuality education, sexuality counselling, and inclusive education.
