    among the various styles of literary genre in the period of Ree Dynasty the romance can be thought one of those styles in which the Buddhistic thought is best reflected. The reason is that the common people in that period had faith in Buddhism and naturally in the romance as a literary style of common people had to be reflected Buddhistic thought while the Confucianists repulsed Buddhism and in the poetry as a literary style of Confucianists was reflected the thought of Confucianism.
    The content of Buddhistic thought in Korean romance reflects contempt of Buddhist monks and at the same time also the faith of common people in Buddhism.
    The content of the faith of common people is as following:
    1st. the thought of causal retribution
    2nd. the thought of cyclos of life
    3rd. the thought of belief in the future existence
    4th. the thought of prayer
    5th. the thought of requiting sratitude
    These are vulgarized contents of contemporary Buddhism of Ree Dynasty in Korea.
