사회적 실천으로서의 기록사진 연구 - ‘일제 강제징용 희생자 유해 반환’현장 사진 촬영과정을 중심으로 - = A Study on Documentary Photography as a Social Practice - Focusing on the photo-taking process of ‘returning the remains of victims of forced labor during the Japanese occupation’ -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the ‘70 Year Homecoming' photography project which documented the process of returning remains of Korean forced labor victims in Hokkaido during the Japanese colonial period and the 'post-colonial' cultural communication in the context of photographic documentation from a visual anthropological point of view. Documentary photography as a ‘social practice’ is employed to contribute to the formation of meaningful post-colonial discourse and exchanges between civil societies between Korea and Japan. The ‘70 Year Homecoming' is a memorial journey led by Korean and Japanese citizens amid conflicts between the Korean and Japanese governments. The return of the remains of victims of forced labor in the Pacific War will have to be discussed through communication and dialogue. It is the researcher's idea that the photo and video records of ‘70 Year Homecoming' will create a space for communication on the subject of forced labor in this respect.
