미국 음악교육에서 질적 연구의 동향 분석 = Trends and Issues of Qualitative Research in Music Education in the United States

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 질적 방법을 사용한 음악교육 연구를 분석하여 음악교육에서의 질적 연구의 동향 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 2000년부터 2011년까지 미국의 음악교육학술지 CRME와 JRME에 수록된 질적 방법을 사용한 연구들을 연구 영역, 연구 대상및 연구 참여자, 질적 연구 방법, 질적 자료 수집법, 타당성 검증 방법의 범주에서 분석하였다. 질적 방법을 사용한 음악교육 연구는 총 81편으로 해당 기간의 전체 연구 478편 중 16.9%를 차지하였다. 연구 영역에서는 음악교사 인식 및 음악교사교육이 가장 활발히 연구되었으며, 연구 참여자는 예비교사와 현장교사를 포함한 음악교사의 비중이높게 나타났다. 질적 접근법은 사례연구와 문화기술지의 비중이 높았으며, 다양한 유형의 방법론적 혼용을 발견할 수 있었다. 대부분의 연구에서 두 개 이상의 자료원을 사용하였으며, 면담법과 관찰법이 많이 사용되었다. 질적 연구의 타당성 검증을 위하여 연구참여자 검토와 삼각검증법의 활용도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
