The speed control system of DC motor using a digital PI controller improves the characteristics of speed response, but the overshoots in setting the desired speed and at the speed variation which is caused by load fluctuation in the steady state, occur more deeply.
A mothod for reducing the overshoot and shortening the rising and settling time in the speed control system using digital PI controller is proposed.
By this method compensating the manipulated quantity of digital PI controller in the case of setting the desired speed or load fluctuation, we can verify the usefulness of this method in obtaining the best characteristics of speed response in the speed control system using a microcomputer as a PI controller.
