한국 남자 높이뛰기의 기록변천 과정 연구 = A Study on the History of Record Change of Korea Men’s High Jump

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 남자 높이뛰기의 기록 변천 과정의 연구를 통해서 한국 육상 경기사의 기초자료로 제시하고자 한다. 한국 남자높이뛰기의 최초기록은 1926년 조선-만주 대항대회에서 김영낙(개성)이 세운 1m66로시작이었다. 2년 뒤 장원천(경사)이 1m75를 기록하였고, 1937년에는 김원용(체신국)이 1m85를 수립하며 1m80대에 진입시킨다. 1939년부터1956년까지 기록이 정체되다가 1957년 이광호(춘천농대)에 의해 1m90에진입한다. 1970년대에는 박상수(고려대)의 활약이 돋보였는데, 그는 1971 년 최초로 2m를 넘었고, 1974년에는 2m13까지 끌어올린다. 1984~85년에는 신이식(서울체고-한체대)이 2m17부터 2m20까지, 1987~1990년에는 조현욱(진주고-부산대)이 2m22를 시작으로 2m26까지 기록을 높여갔다.
1992년부터 1997년까지 이진택의 시대였는데, 그는 1993년 최초로 2m30 을 넘었고 1997년에는 2m34까지 기록했으며 아시안게임에 2연패 및 세계대회에서 활약하였다. 20년간 가까이 기록이 정체되다가 2020년 도쿄올림픽에서 우상혁(상무)은 2m35를 기록하였고, 2022년에는 2m36까지뛰어넘으며 한국 기록을 수립하였다.

This study aims to provide basic data for the history of Korean athletics through the study of record changes in the Korean men's high jump. In order to examine the process of record changes in the Korean men's high jump, this study will examine the process of record changes over time from 1926, when the first record was established, to the present day in 2024. Therefore, the process of record changes in the men's high jump was explored by categorizing the period of 1926-57 as the 'early development period of Korean jugendo', the period of 1957-97 as the 'international performance period of Korean men's high jump', and the period after 2000 as the 'world challenge period of Korean high jump'. Therefore, this study is expected to be used as a basic data for the academic establishment of the history of Korean athletics.
