만전춘의 가창 방식과 의미 구조 연구 = A Study on the Mode of Sing a Manjunchun

A Study on the Mode of Sing a Manjunchun(滿殿春)Heu, Wang-WookThis essay is aimed to invest meaning structure of a Korean classical work, a Manjunchun. A Manjunchun is a song sung by Yeogi(女妓), a girl of talent in Go-ryeo dynasty and Jo-sun dynasty. This song was sung in a special situation, a feast in the royal palace. The host of this party was the king and his family. In this royal ceremony, a producer needed many singers and dancers. So, he picked up talented girls. Selected girls were taught music and dance in a special educational institute(kyobang：敎坊). And then, they acted a role in Jungjae(呈才), offer a music and dance to the king and king's family. Manjunchun was one of Jungjae. This work expressed singer's desire for love with the king, and hope to king's long life. This work was sung accompanied Yeogi's dancing. What is more, This work had dramatic structure. One part of this work was sung by women, and another part was sung by men. Actors put a ask and gave a answer each other. They went progressively forward endless love with the king through a meaning structure(a string of ask and answer). All of them dream for immorality of the king and their kingdom. In the result, this essay clarified a dialogue mode of song Jungjae, Manjunchun.
