The adolescents who had spent certain time abroad and migrated to Korea in school age are called the immigrant adolescents. This study examines researches on the identity of immigrant adolescents and comes to the following conclusion: The first group of researches stands on the perspective of assimilation, analyzing the type of acculturation to Korean culture on the basis of “real Koreans” or their mainstream culture. The second group breaks away from this point of view, but does not get to the observation of the cultural identity of immigrant adolescents as diaspora marginal man. The third group is based on the concept of post-colonialist identity which analyzes the characteristics of the identity of immigrant adolescents not by purity and nature, but by heterogeneity and hybridity.
