부모지도감독이 청소년의 비행친구 접촉과 일탈행동에 미치는 종단적 억제효과 = Analysis of Longitudinal Effect of Parental Monitoring on Adolescents' Deviant Peer Contact and Delinquency

The purpose of this study is to investigate the longitudinal effects of parental monitoring on adolescents' deviant peer contact and delinquency. To best accomplish the research purpose, a KYPS data set which was accumulated by 3,439 8th grade students was analyzed. Latent growth modeling analyses were applied to test three research hypotheses. Results of the data analyses were as follows: First, nonlinear growth models best fitted the three dependent variables of parental monitoring, deviant peer contact, and delinquency. Second, parental monitoring has significant negative effects on adolescents' deviant peer contact. Third, parental monitoring has significant negative effects on growth of adolescents' delinquency. Fourth, parental monitoring has significant indirect effects on growth of adolescents' delinquency by moderating the deviant peer contact. There are significant differences in the magnitude of the effects of parental monitoring on adolescents contact with deviant peers and delinquency between male and female adolescents. Those results suggest that the parental monitoring is a very important factor for adolescents' healthy growth and prevention of their delinquency and parental involvements are required for preventive program for adolescent delinquency.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 비행친구접촉과 청소년 일탈행동의 관계에서 부모지도감독이 미치는 종단적 억제효과를 규명 하는 것이다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 KYPS 중학교 2학년 남녀학생 3,439명이 구축한 5년간의 자료 를 분석하였다. 자료분석을 위해 잠재성장분석을 적용하였으며, 친구접촉, 부모의 지도감독 등이 시간-가변적 예 측요인으로 투입되었다. 연구결과 먼저 부모의 지도감독, 비행친구접촉, 일탈행동 등 변인은 비선형성장을 보였 다. 둘째, 부모지도감독은 비행친구접촉에 유의미한 종단적 억제효과를 보였다. 셋째, 부모지도감독은 일탈행동 의 증가에 대해 유의미한 종단적 억제효과를 보였다. 넷째, 부모지도감독은 비행친구접촉의 억제를 매개로 하여 일탈행동의 증가를 억제하는 효과를 보였다. 즉, 비행을 저지르는 친구와의 접촉이 많을수록 청소년의 일탈행동 의 정도는 빠르게 증가하지만 부모의 지도감독이 증가함에 따라 비행친구접촉 및 일탈행동의 증가는 억제되었 다. 부모지도감독이 비행친구접촉, 일탈행동의 억제에 미치는 영향의 정도는 성별로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 즉, 여학생 집단에서 부모지도감독의 영향이 더 컸다. 이러한 연구결과는 부모의 지도감독이 청소년의 건전한 성장과 비행예방에 매우 중요하다는 사실을 경험적으로 보여주며 청소년 비행의 예방 및 조력프로그램에 있어 부모의 개입이 포함되어야 함을 시사한다.
