This study examines the urban characteristics and decision of urban planning facilities analyzes independent variables having correlation with population size with metrical approach and then obtains the following results.
First, In correlation analysis, major urban planning facilities invested in the analysis had high correlation to population size and in particular, school and sewerage showed very high correlations and consistent results between population size and variables related to urban planning facilities were drawn.
Second, Urban planning facilities having higher discrimination affecting urban scale obtained by means of standardized discrimination function coefficient include sewerage, school, square and market in order.
Third, Urban planning facility having the greatest influence on urban population among six urban planning facilities in multiple regression coefficients was sewerage, decision area of urban planning facilities in proportion to population size tended to wide and park and amusement park showed inverse proportion to decision area of urban planning facilities.
