무용학의 체계화에 대한 고찰 = The Systemization of Dance as a Science

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Dance as a cultural heritage exists as proof of the greater changes in era, and depicts the ways in which we have acquired means to sustain life the ways in which we have lived.
In the contemporary society, dance as an art encompassing time and space by medium of the human body will contribute to the creating and sustainment of an abundant life. Such social and cultural needs may be fulfilled by the training of philosophers, critics, cheoreographers, medics, historians and educators in the field of dance, aiming to establish the theories of dance art.
As a result of analyzing the origins and development of dance as a field of science, dance education, and it's relationship with dance as an art, the system of dance as a science, the equation educational dance=artistic dance, was established. The system of dance studies can be divided into dance theory, dance practice, dance application.
Dance as a field of science is a science of practice. Thus an inter-disciplinary association with art and athletics is needed for systematic studies, and the material resources such as institutions and facilities and human resources are vital to expand the scope of such studied. A continuing effort on the part of the dance theorist is exiged in also becoming the dance practitioner.
