갈라 4,28–31의 ‘상속’: 고대 유다교 전통에 따른 이사악과 이스마엘의 관계를 중심으로 = ‘Inheritance’ in Gal 4:28-31 : Focusing on the Relationship between Isaac and Ishmael according to Ancient Jewish Tradition

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 갈라 4,28-31의 ‘상속’ 개념을 고대 유다교 전통에 비추어 탐구한다. 구약정경과 외경의 증언들과 바오로의 해석 사이 연속성과 불연속성을 검토하는 ‘비교 접근법’이 본고의 방법론이다.
첫째, ‘상속’을 둘러싼 이사악-이스마엘의 갈등은 ‘율법에 따른 행위’-‘그리스도에 대한 믿음’(2,16)의 대립에 상응한다. 둘째, 아브라함의 두 아들의 ‘상속자 지위’가 전복된 것처럼 ‘그리스도에 대한 믿음’이 ‘율법에 따른 행위’보다 구원·의로움의 ‘상속’에서 우위에 놓인다. 셋째, 약속의 실현·성취·완성인 ‘상속 재산’이라는 해석학적 동기는 갈라티아 공동체의 특수한 상황에서 ‘하느님 나라의 상속’(5,12)과 ‘영원한 생명의 상속’(6,8)에 담긴 깊은 의미를 재조명해준다.

This paper explores the concept of ‘inheritance’ in Gal 4:28-31 in light of Ancient Jewish Tradition. The methodology of this paper is a ‘comparative approach’ that examines the continuity and discontinuity between the testimonies of the OT Canon and the Apocrypha and Paul’s interpretation.
First, the conflict between Isaac and Ishmael over ‘inheritance’ corresponds to the conflict between ‘Works of the Law’ and ‘Faith in Christ’ (2,16).
Second, just as the ‘heir status’ of Abraham’s two sons was overturned, ‘Faith in Christ’ is superior to ‘Works of the Law’ in the ‘inheritance’ of salvation and righteousness. Third, the hermeneutic motive of ‘inheritance’, which is the realization, fulfillment, and completion of the promise, is related to ‘inheritance of the kingdom of God’ (5,12) and ‘inheritance of eternal life’ (6,8) in the special situation of the Galatian community. It sheds new light on the deep meaning contained within.
