This study tried to investigate the effect of the Reggio Emilia approach-based project on young children's creativity.

This study was conducted with 24 young children from two day care centers, M city. The young children were divided by experimental and control groups. The experimental group adopted the Reggio Emilia approach-based project and the control group adopted the unit-centered curriculum. The procedure of the study consisted of pretest, experimental treatment, and post-test in order.
To measure young children's creativity, Torrance Test of Creative Thinking-figural(TTCT-figural), which was translated and revised by Kim (2002), was adopted. During the process of the project, all responses of young children recorded by home room teacher.
The collected data was analysed with t-test and calculate the mean and standard deviation between the experimental group and control group.
The results are as follows;
First, the Reggio Emilia approach-based project effects to improve young children's creativity. The young children's creativity showed meaningful improvement after adopting the Reggio Emilia approach-based project.
Second, the Reggio Emilia approach-based project effects on enhancing sub-factors of young children's creativity. All of the sub-factors of young children's creativity showed positive changes after adopting the Reggio Emilia approach-based project.
These positive findings raise the hope that the Reggio Emilia approach-based project will become an important tool for teachers to improve young children's creativity.
