Equally a lecturehall is at the centre of a political row. Sarim(士林) were shocked by the removal of lecturehall.
Oyugeosajeon encapsulates a moment of the removalof lecture-hallin Seonsan.This thesis pointed out severalfacts.
First,this novel was written in the midst of a discussion about rebuilding the lecturehall. So Writer was not anonymity for fear of future troubles.Second,Kim-Jiwon concentrate his efforts to arrange the list of names from Seonsan during compilation of Ilseonsogji(一善續誌). This feature showed up in the Oyugeosajeon. This feature also is a particularly attractive feature of the Sarim lived in Seonsan. Third, the listofnames from Seonsan accounted for30% in Oyugeosajeon.And the listofnames accord with the Ilseonsogji. On that account, Oyugeosajeon seems the writer's blurb on Ilseonsogji.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

서원은 공식적으로는 조선 중기 이후 20세기 초반까지 향촌 사림들의 교육․교화 기관이었고,동시에 향촌 유림들의 집합소요 정신적 중심지였다.
<오유거사전>은 서원훼철령을 둘러싼 선산지방 선비들의 의식을 형상화한 소설이다. 이 논문에서는 <오유거사전>에 관한 몇 가지 문제를 지적하였다.먼저,이 작품이 서원복설 논의가 한창일 때 지어진 작품이라는 사실을 밝혔다. 따라서 이 작품의 작자처리나 결말처리는 서원복설 발언에 대한 후환을 두려워한 것이 아니라 향사 인물 설정 등에 따른 잡음을 두려워한 탓이라고 하였다.또한 김지원은 『일선속지』를 편찬하면서 선산이라는 한 지방의 인물을 싣는 데에 집중했다. 이것은 한 지방의 안내서이어야 할 邑誌의 특성을 무시한 것이다.이런 특성이 <오유거사전>에도
그대로 드러난다.또 여러 인물을 자랑하듯 드러내는 일은 선산지방 세력의 역사적 부침과도 연관됨을 말하였다. 더불어 『일선속지』의 인물의 명단을 나열하는 데에 <오유거사전>전체의 1/3이상을 차지한다는 점 등을 들어 <오유거사전>이 『일선속지』의 소개나 선전을 위한 의도적인 기능물일 수 있다는 점을 말하였다.
