Broadcasting industry in Korea is undergoing a significant reintegration, economically and politically, due to fast evolving media environment and changes of relationship between central and regional governments. Economic viability is among the top list for local broadcasting companies’ survival strategies. Unlike other approaches to the issue most of which address the solution from the perspective of program positioning, this study investigates how cultural events hosted by local broadcasting stations affects relationship with community publics. Four dimensions of relationship measure are utilized for the research : trust, commitment, local community involvement, reputation.
