The sixth grade students of Korean elementary school who are in the concrete level of cognitive development have problems to understand some scientific concepts of the textbook because they are represented in words without concrete images. Molecular motion is a typical concept. The importance of molecular motion theory lies in its explanatory power. The theory enables us to develop detailed and convincing explanations of the physical and chemical properties of substances, as well as of many events or phenomena in the world around us that would otherwise be mystirious. But molecular motion is not observable. It is only inferred by the related phenomena. This is the reason that there is no matter how well a textbook is written, many students normally fail to read if with understanding. The purposes of this study were developing teaching materials by Anderson`s magic eyeglasses which help students to see molecules are constantly moving even in substances such as ice where no motion of the substance is visible, and testing the effect of the teaching materials to the Korean 6th grade elementary school students. The findings of this study were that compared with the students who studied molecular motion on traditional teaching method, the students who studied that on Anderson s magic eyeglasses method unerstood the related scientific phenomena correctly, had clear memory for a long time, and had good attitude toward science.
