고전 유신론과 기독교 신학 = The Classical Theism and Christian Theology

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper seeks to explore new directions for understanding of the Christian faith in God while it considers the history of classical theism derived from Plato and Aristotle critically. The classical theism with immutability, eternity and aseity is the fundamental frame in the formation of Christian theology and is inherited and more developed since Augustine and Aquinas. Even until now it works as an important conceptual framework of the construction of a Christian God. But when Christian theology emphasizes God`s incarnation and death on the Cross, the framework of classical theism based on the conceptions such as immutability, non-temporal eternity, aseity and prima causa could not avoid being collapsed. This paper supports that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is different from metaphysical God of philosophers constructed by the classical theism which came to drastic criticism in the 19th century. Also, we make clear where Christian theology discovered new possibilities of the God-talk as a viable alternative to the classical theism lost with the collapse of metaphysics. We must go forth in this direction and deepen this perspective of God after classical theism more and more.
