Italy is very similar to Korea in its geopolitical location and long domination of rightist regime. Furthermore, Italian police is similar to Korean one in a sense of widespread distrust of people, too. This article tries to anslyse the causes of such a distrust by focusing the governance structure of Italian police and other current issues. The problems of Sicilian Mafia and dual structure of Italian police system are explained as a important factor of Italian disrespects towards their police. Nonetheless, I think Italian police is more advanced than Korean one in that they manage their own police union like a syndicate and operate a respectable Magistrates system almost completely independent of the cabinet. As well, Italian police do not have the training agency like Korean National Police College which functions as so many dysfunction as well as some contribution to the whole Korean police system.
