35 asthmatic patients and 4 patients with allergic rhinitis wefe tested for exercise induced bronchoconstriction. Of these 35 asthmatic patients 15 (42%) showed 20% fall in PEFR by treadmill exercise. The incidence of exercise induced fall in PEFR was the same among patients with extrinsic (44%) as among patients with intrinsic asthma (41%). EIA incidence in childfood and adults was not different, 41% and 43% respectively. Exercise positive patients might be divided into 2 types. In type I, maximum % fall of PEFR was at 1 5 minutes after exercise and thereafter PEFR recovered into basal preexercise level by 20 minutes. In type II, 20% fall of PEFR was persistdd more than 20 minutes after exercise. None of the patients with allergic rhinitis showed positive exercise test.
