Organizational learning is a significant factor driving business model innovation; previous research has focused on traditional organizational learning models, lacking attention to failure learning behavior. This study is dedicated to exploring the mechanisms by which failure learning behavior affects business model innovation. A model is constructed by introducing dynamic capability as a mediating variable and organizational inertia as a moderating variable. Afterwards, 307 samples were collected in Chinese corporate context and empirically analyzed by SPSS software. The results show that failure learning behavior has a significant positive impact on business model innovation, in which the three dimensions of dynamic capabilities (innovative capability, absorptive capability, and adaptive capability) play a partially mediating role. Moreover, organizational inertia weakened the effects of innovation and absorptive capacity on business model innovation. This study reveals the mechanism of failure learning behavior's influence on business model innovation.
