In this research, the parameter that could quantify driver's physiological signal was studied and D/B structure was proposed based on selected parameter. In addition, the model that could explain the meaning of signal that collected through field survey was suggested and the effect of traffic on driver was studied. The conceptual model (Demand-Effort Model) that was suggested in this study defines the mental stress as demand and endeavor as effort that needed for safe driving. And it is assumed that the incongruity of demand and effort leads to crash. The methodology that suggested in this study provides the conceptual basis of determining adequacy of driving considering both environment and driver condition. And with quantified parameter, it is expected that the model could be used as a core methodology for establishing the driver's physiological signal detection system. The result of field survey analysis showed higher β/α value on parietal lobe when the highway was opened to traffic than it was not. From this result, it is possible to assume that the traffic affected the driver. In addition, the results of horizontal EOG( Electro-Oculomotorgraphy) and power spectrum value on central lobe showed similar θ value on central lobe showed similar pattern.
