Today, more people live decent lives together with the economic development, Therefore, the role of flower design became significant as the importance of the design in table setting is emphasized , As the cultural exchange became active all over the world, the introduction of indiscreet western culture, however, made flower design into monotonous and universal , It is necessary to satisfy the contemporary table
setting by complementing the current trend ,
Accordingly, this research aims at serving an opportunity to examine flower design in modern Korean style table setting as reconstructing traditional beauty to modern trend by apprehending the current state of flower design from prize winning works of TOYA tableware festival , The result of this research on the current state of TOYA tableware flower design is as follows;
Firstly, all design prefer horizontal style with lower than eye sight level, Moreover, table setling in a natural way is widely favoured , Therefore, the flower design in modern table setting is suggested that having comfortable and stable decoration in general , using natural colour but the colour for flower design is better to attract attention as giving vigorous image, Secondly, it is important to recognize the theme and purpose of table setting and keep harmonized relationship through the cooperation among potters, food stylist and flower stylist, In addition, the generalized flower design should be investigated to satisfy the international susceptibility by abstracting peculiarity of traditional value with the most Korean-styled materials.
