생태미학적 바이오필릭 텍스타일 디자인의 개념과 사례 연구 = A Study on Ecological Aesthetics Biophilic Textile Design: Concepts and Case Analyses

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 바이오필리아 개념을 텍스타일 디자인에 적용하여 지속가능성과 생태미학적 관점을 강화하는 방안을 탐구하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 바이오필릭 텍스타일 디자인의 유형과 생태미학적 디자인 접근법을 통합하여, ① 자연의 형태와 질감 활용, ② 생태적 순환 반영, ③ 자연의 변화 과정 반영, ④ 자연과 인간의 상호작용 강화, ⑤ 문화적 자연과의 연결 반영이라는 다섯 가지 접근법을 도출하였다. 또한, 사례 연구를 통해 이러한 접근법이 실제 디자인에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지를 검토하였다. 이를 통해 바이오필릭 텍스타일 디자인이 단순히 자연의 이미지를 차용하거나 장식적으로 활용하는 것을 넘어, 자연과 인간의 관계를 새롭게 정의하는 방식으로 바이오필리아를 촉진하는 역할을 수행한다는 것을 확인하였다. 결과적으로, 바이오필릭 텍스타일 디자인이 생태미학적 접근을 수용함으로써 기존의 한계를 보완하고, 더욱 지속가능한 방향으로 발전할 가능성이 크다는 것을 시사한다.

This study explores the application of the biophilia concept in textile design to enhance sustainability and integrate an ecological aesthetics perspective. While biophilic design has been widely utilized in architecture and spatial design, research in the field of textile design remains insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to establish a framework that integrates biophilic textile design with ecological aesthetics principles to provide a deeper examination of the relationship between nature and humanity in textile design. To achieve this, five key approaches were identified: ① Utilization of natural forms and textures, ② Reflection of ecological cycles, ③ Representation of natural transformation processes, ④ Enhancement of human-nature interaction, ⑤ Integration of cultural and natural connections. Through a case study analysis, this study examines how these approaches can be implemented in textile design. The findings indicate that biophilic textile design extends beyond merely adopting natural imagery or using decorative elements. Instead, it redefines the human-nature relationship and contributes to a greater awareness of ecological values. Furthermore, incorporating an ecological aesthetics perspective allows textile design to transcend its traditional decorative role and function as a medium for conveying environmental messages, promoting sustainability awareness, and enhancing sensory experiences. This study suggests that biophilic textile design has the potential to move beyond conventional aesthetic applications, address sustainability challenges, and foster ecological awareness through design.
