Purpose : The purpose of this study were to identify the level of stress on the National Examination for Registered Nurses·job-seeking, somatic symptom, and coping method of nursing students and to determine the relationship among these variables and providing basic information to develop strategies for effective instruction of school life and guidance in nursing students.
Method : A descriptive research design was used in this study. The participants were 181 nursing students in J city who were surveyed between September 1 and September 20, 2014 using self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 14.0 program, which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Duncan's Multiple Range test, Pearson correlation coefficient.
Result : 1. The mean score of stress on the National Examination for Registered Nurses·job-seeking was 2.73. There was significant difference in the National Examination for Registered Nurses·job-seeking stress according to satisfaction on nursing major (F=5.23, P=.006), credits (F=3.30, P=.022).
2. The mean score of somatic symptom was 2.67. There was significant difference in somatic symptom according to religion (t=.47, p=.044), characteristics(t=5.02, p=.08)
3. The mean score of stress coping method was 2.53, and no significant difference in stress coping method according to general characteristics of nursing students.
4. There was positive correlation between the National Examination for Registered Nurses·job-seeking stress and somatic symptom (r=.321).
