김소월의 ｢詩魂｣ 재고 = Reconsideration of Kim So-wol’s "Sihon[Poetic Soul]"

This study was planned to reexamine the meaning and significance of Kim So-wol's poetry, "Sihon". Because it is the only poetic theory he left behind, this article has received consistent attention throughout research. However, direct comparison with Kim Eok's writings, which was his direct motivation for writing this article, was not very active from the beginning. Focusing on this point, this study attempted to examine the meaning of "Sihon" contained in Kim Eok’s writings to reveal similarities and differences with Kim So-wol’s discussion. Under the influence of symbolic poetics, Kim Eok divided 'absolute poetry' and 'relative poetry', and stood on the dualism that the ‘symbol’ that points to the 'incomprehensible mystery' is 'Sihon' and that the essence of poetry lies in this, and 'absolute poetry' was the ideal. On the other hand, Kim So-wol's thoughts are as follows. 'Sihon' is a subject with 'soul' as its main body and recognizes the world and responds to it. When the 'shade' of the target world is reflected here, a 'shade' is created inside. And this again becomes the 'shade' of the work. There are three levels of 'shade' in his poetic theory. Kim So-wol approaches phenomenological poetics through the poetic theory that the 'shadow' that emerges from the characteristics of 'Sihon' reveals the 'truth of the world', and establishes a poetic theory that is distinct from Kim Eok. On the other hand, I found the possibility that Kim So-wol's poetry is related to the tradition of Chinese poetry or Buddhist philosophy. And the literary historical significance of "Sihon" was confirmed through Baek Seok and Oh Gyu-won, who directly or indirectly inherited his poetry.
