4-H 활동이 한국 청소년활동에 미친 영향에 대한 고찰 = A Study on the Impact the 4-H Activities Had on the Korean Youth Movement

This study on the 4-H activities can be instrumental in establishing the historical system of the Korean youth movement which started from the ancient society and, at the same time, it can be a standard that shows how diverse 4-H movement programs carried out in rural areas have been reflected in Korean youth activity programs. First of all, to examine 4-H activities from a historical point of view, the 4-H activities which were handed down from the Samgukshidae(the period of Three States) were a little depressed through the period of the periods of Goryo and Chosun; on the other hand, we cannot deny the fact that the importance of youth discipline activities was more earnestly demanded during those periods. Especially, by looking at the importance and role of the 4-H movement during the periods of liberation from Japan and disorder of the Korean War when there were no youth activities, I tried to establish the historical system of the Korean youth activities. Next, while going over the history of the 4-H movement programs introduced in 1947, I sought to understand what impact it had had on the Korea youth discipline programs and how it had contributed to Korean youths until the Youth Training Act was enacted in 1987. In addition, I did some fact-finding in regard to the youths who are participating in the 4-H activities today and, by conducting a comparative analysis against other youth activities, discussed some influences the 4-H activities has had on the overall Korean youth activity programs.
