The purpose of this study was to compare and examine the effect of combined exercise on body composition, sarcopenia, inflammatory makers, insulin resistance, and leptin in postmenopausal obese middle-aged women who were divided into the experimental group (n=14) and the control group (n=15) through 12-week program of dance spores and to provide scientific data for prevention of adult diseases. Regarding change of body composition, there were significant differences in weight (p<.05), body fat percentage (p<.05), belly (p<.05), and muscle condition score (p<.05). Regarding changes of insulin resistance and leptin, there were significant differences in reduction of fasting blood sugar (p<.05), insulin (p<.05), and leptin (p<.05). First, to prevent adult diseases, executing combined exercise program was effective for weight, body fat percentage, belly, and muscle condition score in obese middle-aged women. Second, fasting blood sugar, insulin, leptin, and hormones were effectively reduced in obese middle-aged women after dance spores program, and it is considered that there should be more exercise period for inflammatory makers and HOMA-IR. From the above results, there was not a significant difference in inflammatory makers of postmenopausal obese middle-aged women. Thus combined exercise program is considered to be an effective method for improvements of body composition, muscle condition score, fasting blood sugar, insulin, leptin, and hormones.
