The Zr57V36B7 getter alloy was prepared by substitution of Fe in Zr57V36Fe7 getter alloy(St707) by B and its activation temperature was investigated. The Zr57V36B7 getter alloy powder consisted of two phases, i.e., hexagonal solid solution of -Zr and cubic Laves of Zr(V1-XBX)2. The activation temperature of this alloy was lowered about 200 compared to Zr57V36Fe7 getter alloy(St707). Lattice parameter of cubic Laves phase was increased from 7.3686 to 7.4403 by the substitution Fe by B. It is believed that the lowered activation temperature is due to increasement of instability in structure.
