청각장애 아동을 위한 이중 양식․이중 언어 교육: EvISK 모델을 중심으로 = Bilingual-Bimodal Education for Children with Hearing Impairments -Focusing on the EvISK Model-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 독일의 EvISK 모델을 바탕으로 청각장애 아동을 위한 이중 양식-이중 언어 교육의 관점과 실행 방법을 고찰하고자 한다. 이중 양식-이중 언어 교육은 수어와 음성 언어, 두 가지 언어와 문화를 동시에 습득할 수 있게 하는 21세기 중요한 교육적 접근 방식이다. 이는 청각장애 학생들에게 언어적․문화적 정체성을 형성하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 EvISK 모델은 단순히 특정한 교수법을 제안하는 것이 아니라, 사회언어학적 요소, 개별 아동의 특성, 환경적 요인 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 맞춤형 이중 언어 교육을 설계할 수 있는 개념적 틀을 제공한다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 구성으로 진행된다. 제 II장에서는 독일어권 국가에서의 이중 언어 교육 패러다임을 살펴본다. 제 III장에서는 독일의 EvISK 모델의 특성과 구성 및 적용 사례를 소개하며, 제 IV장에서는 이를 바탕으로 우리나라 이중 언어 교육에 대한 시사점을 논의한다. 본 연구는 향후 우리나라 청각장애 학생들의 이중 언어 교육 정책 및 프로그램 개발에 중요한 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to explore the perspectives and implementation methods of bimodal-bilingual education for children with hearing impairments through Germany’s EvISK model. Bimodal-bilingual education is a crucial 21st-century educational approach that enables the simultaneous acquisition of both sign language and spoken language, as well as their associated cultures. It plays a vital role in shaping the linguistic and cultural identities of children with hearing impairments. The EvISK model presented in this study is not merely a specific teaching method but a conceptual framework that supports the design of personalized bilingual education, considering sociolinguistic factors, the individual characteristics of each child, and environmental influences. This study is organized as follows: Chapter II examines the paradigm of bilingual education in German-speaking countries. Chapter III introduces the characteristics, components, and practical applications of the EvISK model in Germany, and Chapter IV discusses the implications for bilingual education in Korea. This study aims to provide meaningful guidance for the development of policies and programs related to bilingual education for children with hearing impairments in Korea.
